              Tombak and Goblet Drums | Classical Persian Music

              Tonbak, also known as tombak, dombak, and zarb is the main Persian drum applied in Persian music especially in Classical Persian music and is one of the most sophisticated drums of the world in the sense of having different finger patterns. It is also one of the most popular goblet drums in world percussion music. Many names of goblet drums including the American name, Doumbek, come from the Persian name dombak.
